ABOUT PHILIP AKINDIPE
As a current Bachelor of Engineering student at Queen\'s University\'s accredited Smith School of Engineering. I am specializing in Computer Engineering. I previously attended Baylor University in the same program where I received an academic entrance scholarship coming out of high school. I am an active member of Queen\'s Engineering Society and Black Engineering Society. I seek valuable work experience and an opportunity to intern and learn from professionals in the industry. In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I have held various leadership roles within my school and community. As the Captain of Brentwood Broadcast and Multimedia, I led camera operations for Brentwood\'s annual TEDx event, hosted NBA and Premier League podcasts, and mentored 17+ boys in camera operation and videography. As the Graduation Class President of 2022, I represented the graduating seniors and had numerous responsibilities such as weekly speeches at school assemblies, leading and coordinating my grad council, planning numerous grad events and activities and building relations with teachers, boards of directors and alumni. I was also tasked with raising money for the Grad Bursary fund, and I am super proud to have broken the all-time school record at the time by raising just north of which will help a student with financial aid to attend the school in the future. I also have additional experience playing senior varsity boys basketball, as the alternate captain, where we were consistently one of the best AA teams across British Columbia.
