ABOUT PHIL TOURNOR
I have been in the construction industry in the Kansas City Area since 1998 after graduating from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a BS in Construction Management. I have worked early in my career as an estimator for large general contractor at that time and have been in the concrete field since as an estimator. I estimate on average 80-100 estimates each year consisting of small projects under 50K to projects over 30M. Our concrete projects range from retail, schools, healthcare, data centers, industrial, parking, and waste water. GJS also performs decorative concrete including polished concrete. My goal is to become a more well rounded estimator and knowledgeable on all aspects of construction estimation.I am also currently a member for the American Society of Professional Estimators National Certification Committee and board member of the American Society of Professional Estimators Heartland Chapter #32 and been part of the board of directors since 2005. I have also been a past president of our chapter (20••••08). I am also a Certified Professional Estimator accredited by the society and achieved Lifetime status in 2019. I was also appointed as Chair of the National Awards Committee 2013-14. I enjoy networking with ASPE professionals in the Central Plains region and on a national level. I also recently completed my service on the American Society of Professional Estimators Certification Technical Committee. I have received two ASPE presidents awards (2017 for service on the Awards Committee and 2022 for service on the Certification Committee)Specialties: Concrete, Concrete Flatwork, Decorative Concrete
