Imagine the array of people, systems, and controls that keep commercial airliners safely in the air at any given moment and you have a good idea of what a cybernetic system is.† Symbolic AI is the application of concepts as symbols and encoding knowledge of the world through relationships between these symbols via defined rules that enable automated deductive reasoning and inference.
