About Phil Plummer

Sheriff Phil Plummer joined the Montgomery County Sheriff\'s Office in 1988 where he began his career as a corrections officer assigned to the Jail Division. He was later promoted to deputy sheriff on the road. Upon his promotion to Sergeant, he held assignments as a supervisor in the Dispatch, Road Patrol and as the SWAT Team Leader. In November of he was promoted to the rank of Major and assumed Command of the Operations Division. In January 2004, he was placed in charge of the Personnel Office where he was responsible for human resources and labor relations. In March 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Chief Deputy (Second in Command.) Elected Sheriff in 2008. Sheriff Plummer has comprehensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with all facets of managing the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Plummer is a native of Montgomery County. He graduated from Chaminade-Julienne High School, and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo and a Bachelor of Science in Management (Business) from the University of Phoenix. In 2003 he graduated from the FBI National Academy. Specialties: Union Negotiation, Purchasing, Salary Arbitration, Government Liaison
