Hello, I’m Phil. I try not to be too serious on LinkedIn, so expect a few light-hearted posts - but the work we do at Harper Adams University is seriously good 🤝As Head of Business Engagement, I help organisations solve challenges and future-proof their businesses by connecting them to world-class expertise across agriculture, agricultural engineering, animal sciences, food technology and production, veterinary science, business and agri-business, data science, environmental science, and sustainable development. From Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and research collaborations to skills development and graduate talent, I’m passionate about building partnerships that deliver real impact - and I’ve got plenty of experience doing just that!Alongside this, I’m a keynote speaker at industry and regional events, bringing energy, insight, and personality to every stage. A bit of fun helps people learn - honest.My higher education career spans over a decade, starting in student recruitment before moving into business development and now leading industry engagement. Completing my MBA with distinction in 2020 strengthened my focus on strategy and growth. My dissertation on Motivating Salespeople in the atypical environment of Higher Education has now developed into a successful workshop delivered to public and private sector clients, helping teams identify what drives them and become happier, more successful salespeople.Outside of work, I’m into personal fitness, spending time with loved ones, and following the mighty Port Vale FC.If you’re exploring partnership opportunities or looking for a speaker who combines expertise with personality, let’s connect.
