ABOUT PHIL ONEILL

I’m currently Chief Operations Officer for a growing Multi Academy Trust, where my focus is making sure the right systems, resources and environments are in place so schools can do what they do best – educate young people.After 25 years in the leisure industry, I decided it was time for a new challenge. That background gave me a sharp understanding of customer expectations, service standards and how to run complex operations at scale – all of which transfer surprisingly well into the education world.I’ve managed budgets north of £18m, led on business planning, compliance, health & safety, estates and people management, and I still get a kick out of solving operational challenges that make life easier for staff and students.Along the way I’ve: • Helped organisations win national awards for customer service and operational excellence • Secured funding to improve facilities and expand opportunities for communities • Led teams through periods of change and growth without losing focus on people and cultureI’m at my best when I’m building strong teams, making things run smoother, and creating environments where staff and students can genuinely thrive.
