As a Legacy and Philanthropy Executive at St Michael\'s Hospice in Hereford, my role is focused on securing long-term support for the hospice through legacy giving and major philanthropy. I build relationships with potential donors, ensuring they understand the impact of their gifts and feel confident in their decisions to support the hospice’s work.In legacy fundraising, I engage individuals to include St Michael’s in their wills, creating tailored communications and providing personalized support. I also manage relationships with existing legacy donors, ensuring their intentions are honored and their gifts are stewarded effectively.For major philanthropy, I identify and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals and organizations, aligning their philanthropic interests with the hospice’s needs. I create bespoke proposals and manage a portfolio of donors to secure significant gifts that fund our services.I also oversee donor stewardship, ensuring all donors are acknowledged and updated on the impact of their contributions. This involves organizing events and personal outreach to keep supporters engaged. Additionally, I contribute to strategic planning and reporting, tracking fundraising progress and providing insights to senior leadership.Through community outreach and partnerships, I work to raise awareness of the hospice’s mission and the importance of legacy giving, helping to expand our donor base. My work is essential in ensuring that St Michael’s Hospice remains a vital resource for end-of-life care, both now and in the future.
