Whatever our medium - acting, dance, song, music, written word, spoken word, pencil, paint, sculpture, costumes, make-up, photographs, film, sound, lighting, recording, scenery, paper, wood, metal, clay, canvas - we all put our hearts and souls into our art and put it out there for the enjoyment and/or contemplation of the human collective. We all inherit the struggle and history of our art, the fleeting recognition, being taken for granted, our worth questioned, the ups and downs from ecstasy to despair, the need to do what we do simply because it fulfills who we are. I hope that through social media like LinkedIn, we may find strength and understanding from one another and perhaps achieve some greater solidarity in a moment when the future of art and humanity need it most.
