ABOUT PHIL BRAYSHAW
I am a senior national NHS leader with over 30 years’ experience improving support for autistic children and young people, and those with a learning disability or SEND. As Head of Children and Young People within the National Learning Disability and Autism Programme at NHS England, I lead national programmes of work to strengthen services, reduce inequalities and ensure national policy and reform translate into consistent, person‑centred care.My leadership draws on earlier roles in clinical nursing practice, commissioning and national policy development, and I work closely with partners across health, education and government to deliver sustainable improvements that have real impact for children, young people and their families.Alongside my national role, I serve as a co-opted Governor at a Special School in Leeds and as a Trustee within a local Multi‑Academy Trust, supporting governance that meaningfully reflects the voices and lived experiences of pupils, families and staff. I care deeply about inclusion, collaboration and creating environments where children, and the people who support them, feel valued, respected and able to thrive.I am currently training as an executive coach and mentor, building on many years of supporting leaders navigating complex systems. My coaching takes a collaborative, systemic approach, helping people understand their context, navigate challenge and create purposeful, lasting change. I already bring significant experience and particularly enjoy helping public sector leaders work with clarity and confidence. I also welcome opportunities to support private sector colleagues who want to explore a more relational, values‑led approach to leadership practice.I am motivated by integrity, partnership working and ensuring that the voices of children, young people, their families and the communities around them shape the outcomes and futures that matter most.
