After 29 years as a Phoenix Fire Fighter, Phil has made it his business to understand the ins and outs of the public safety retirement system. Phil entered the Financial industry in 2014 and currently works with Larry Mathis at Mathis Wealth Management and United Planners. He holds his Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses and is always working toward further licensing and accreditations. His wife Paula, licensed in life and health insurance, is working alongside him to provide a complete financial package to their clients. Together, their goal is to help firefighters and other public safety officers wade through the complexity of pensions, DROP, 457, 401a, ROTH, old 401k, and taxable accounts as they relate to the preparation, planning, and execution of retirement.Phil spent his first career as a Phoenix Firefighter and also ran two multi-million dollar businesses, Stoneridge Development Corporation and Stoneridge Construction LLC. He was a founding board member and served as president of the Phoenix Metro Public Safety Football Club, which was the 501-3c behind the football team for Phoenix Fire and Police, the Thunder. That football team won multiple national titles and gave thousands of dollars to charity. He even found the time to coach high school football for 20+ years. The skills he learned from business and coaching are directly applied to the retirement planning, business consulting, and wealth management that he does with his clients.Phil married his high school sweetheart, Paula, while they were at Northern Arizona University and they have been married for 37 years. They have three adult children, Austin, Nate, and Nicole, and Three dogs, Bo, Bella and Max.Phil is a voracious reader, a huge football fan, and loves to travel, fish, and hike.
