About Ron Owens
A native of St. Louis, Ron Owens has a colorful background with varied experience. His marketing career began in Radio Sales in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked as an account executive for two years selling KHTT, a Top 40 format, and KBEZ, an adult contemporary format. He had immediate success in his first year and was the recipient of the Presidents Club award for Renda Broadcasting. He then transitioned to television sales for Clear Channel Communications in Tulsa selling advertising on the local Fox affiliate and My Network (My41) affiliate. During his 5 years at Clear Channel, he won the Presidents club award two years consecutively. Following his advertising sales career, Ron went on to become the founder of Phame Marketing, Inc. in Tulsa. Phame Marketing is a full service agency that provides marketing solutions for all levels of business including Fortune 500 companies. Media buying, video production, web design, and digital marketing are among the top services Phame Marketing offers. Ron is an Oklahoma State University Graduate with a B. S. in Microbiology. Prior to beginning his career in advertising, he spent 9 years in the Pharmaceutical industry working for Behring and Aventis Pharma where he led a staff of 115 employees to become the industry leaders. He is also a retired Army First Sergeant with 22 years of service in the 45th Infantry Brigade. He holds MOS qualifications as a Combat Medic, as well as, an Infantryman. Duty positions include: Battalion Aide Station NCOIC, Air Assault School Cadre, BNCOC instructor and Branch Chief, ANCOC instructor, OCS TAC and instructor, Charlie Med 1st Sergeant and Rifle Company 1st Sergeant. He deployed multiple times in defense of the country in places like Afghanistan and Hurricane Katrina. Ron has several quotable phrases known as “Ronisms” including one of his most notable phrases, “People before things.”
