Phae is the founder and Executive Director of NCPHIF, a 501 (c) nonprofit formed in 2009 to help homeowners avoid becoming victims of home repair/remodel fraud and scams. She started NCPHIF after witnessing the financial and emotional effects that a home repair scam had on her grandmother. “I absolutely remember the pain in her face,” she said. “That will be with me always.”Phae has made it her passion and commitment to make sure others don\'t experience the same loss. After attending college, Phae felt the entrepreneurial bug and left school to pursue her own business, which allowed her to learn many valuable skills. Her hard work paid off and she started a successful third party reimbursement company. She is now a home repair fraud prevention expert, a published author (Don\'t Even Think About Ripping Me Off! on Amazon, a step-by-step guide on how to find, hire, work with and pay contractors), a community member of the City of Atlanta Code Enforcement Commission, a real estate agent, HUD certified housing counselor, a graduate of the Construction Business Management Institute, and a regular speaker at national events. She has done over 100 television, radio and print interviews nationwide and has over 30 million media impressions. She is a national speaker on the subject of home repair fraud prevention and has been an invited speaker and panelist at over 50 conferences nationwide, including National Association of Attorneys General, National Association of Insurance Commissioners, AARP, FEMA, SBA, many design and remodeling expos nationwide, and many others.Phae continues to bring awareness to this multi-billion dollar problem. “If I don’t work hard every day to reach and teach every community how to protect themselves, if I don’t knock on every door for the support NCPHIF needs to help protect those who are most vulnerable to contractor scams in this country, then I am doing them all a disservice,” she said.
