About Petri Darby

Building dynamic brands, growing, leading, and serving teams, and changing lives are hallmarks of my professional and personal life. I am enamored with the creative process and helping people find their confidence, agency, and inspiration to become their best selves.My career background spans strategy and implementation in agency and client-side, nonprofit and for-profit, entrepreneurial and Fortune 50/AMLAW 100 arenas. I helped build two philanthropic brands for Charles Butt, chairman and former CEO of H-E-B, led marcomm and digital strategy for Make-A-Wish America (one of the nation\'s most trusted and beloved charity brands), served as the sole PR/corporate communications rep for one of the nation\'s largest law firms, ran my own brand marketing, creative, and PR shop, and more. Random things I\'m proud of- First and foremost, I\'ve had the privilege to recruit, build, coach, and serve incredibly talented, humble, and hungry teams- I am a dual citizen of the U.S. and Finland and created a nonprofit, Voices of Karelia, to capture stories of Finnish Karelian evacuees of the Winter War and Continuation War when Russia invaded Finland. I\'m also working on a historical fiction novel inspired by that time- I\'m a beaming dad of two boys who both played and refereed hockey and are pursuing their love of sports photography and videography- I currently serve as board chair for Make-A-Wish of Central & South Texas- I was selected to fill the remaining six months of a vacated Cedar Park City Council seat- I served as Haiku Laureate for a TEDx event, won a Phoenix New Times Haiku contest, and, as far as I know, I am the only two-time winner of the USA Today Online Haiku Contest.
