As the associate director of The Kavli Prize at The Kavli Foundation, I lead the program in collaboration with its prize partners, The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and The Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research. I direct the Prize strategy and activities by leveraging my extensive expertise in international relations, policy, communications, diplomacy and culture. I also serve as the liaison for the Fred Kavli Knowledge Center in Norway, founded on the family farm and birthplace of The Kavli Foundation\'s founder Fred Kavli.The Kavli Prize is awarded biennially to scientists whose basic research has fundamentally transformed astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience – the big, the small, and the complex. The Kavli Prize consists of USD1 million in each of the three scientific fields, a solid gold medal and a scroll. Since the first awards in 2008, The Kavli Prizes have honored 73 scientists from 14 Kavli Foundation is dedicated to advancing science for the benefit of humanity, promoting public understanding of scientific research, and supporting scientists and their work.We aspire to this vision through our mission to stimulate basic research in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience, neuroscience, and theoretical physics; strengthen the relationship between science and society; and honor scientific discoveries with The Kavli Prize in celebration of breakthroughs in astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience.Please visit our website to learn more.
