ABOUT PETRA GOMERSALL

I design legacy strategies and systems for institutional sustainability and growth. My work sits at the intersection of philanthropy, Estates & Trusts and charitable impact. I create legacy culture by promoting charitable legacy giving among trustees, advisors and high-net-worth individuals, and work out tailored ways of how to connect charitable intent with meaningful causes through the most effective legacy-giving structures and campaigns. With over 18 years’ experience in complex probate and estate administration for charities as a full Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP), I bring deep technical expertise combined with commercial acumen and disciplined judgement. I navigate the legal, fiscal and governance dimensions of charitable estates with authority, while remaining acutely aware of the personal sensitivities that accompany wealth transfer.As a finalist for the Smee & Ford Legacy Professional of the Year Award (2023), I am recognised for advancing best practice in legacy management. My approach is rooted in practical experience and value-driven: optimising gifts in wills for tax efficiency, governance alignment, reputational strength and measurable charitable return.In addition to my advisory work, I serve as a Trustee of the Czech National Trust Abroad, supporting the international mission to preserve the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic - a commitment that reflects my belief that our collective memories and cultural values are a priceless legacy worth safeguarding for those who come after us.
