ABOUT PETE DAVIS

Founder of Birkdale Collective. We both directly run and consult on various careers projects specialising in Students, Sport and the Charity sector. As of 2026, we\'ve worked with 27 UK Universities, numerous sports teams and governing bodies and dozens of charities.In Birkdale Collective\'s first year we created working relationships with a number of UK universities including University of Manchester, Liverpool and Lancaster Management School where we have held talks, attended employability events and career fairs to help students with their job search. We also helped refugees with Stockport Council and it\'s stakeholders with their employability skills to give them a great chance of success here in the UK! We were included in the Brainz Magazine CREA Global Awards 2023, a list of top entrepreneurs, influential leaders, and innovators who have been recognized for innovative ideas, resourcefulness and accomplishments in the areas of sustainability and mental health.Up to 2024 we\'ve now spoken at 22 different UK Universities, Liverpool FC, Motorsport UK and many more on the way!I\'ve been involved in education projects with international students since 2008 starting my work in China in educational gap year programmes. After working up through the business with ImmerQi, I worked on the companies expansion from both within China to new ventures in Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. From 2014 to the middle of 2021 I have been based in Manchester where I was integral to the expansion of a Career Coaching business throughout the UK as I served as it\'s longest serving Regional Manager.Writing is a big passion of mine. I have written about education and football in Asia for a number of publications and wrote the China chapter of the 2015 FIFA Women\'s World Cup book. I have also been featured on air for Sky News, Sky Sports News and Al Jazeera as an expert on the game in China. In addition I have my own website ventures including;\"Their Star Wars Stories\" where I have interviewed numerous actors and performers from the Star Wars franchise and \"The Zu Qiu Problem\" which is my own take on the issues holding back Chinese football. Don\'t ask me about Sheffield Wednesday however, none of us want to have that discussion.
