ABOUT PETE WEGIER

I’m a digital healthcare leader who merges technical expertise and scientific rigour to solve real-world clinical challenges. With two degrees in computer science and a PhD in cognitive psychology, I’ve spent my career bridging user experience research, data-driven insights, and cutting-edge technology to radically improve healthcare delivery. These experiences have taught me a lot about myself: I can implement, scale, and share solutions across healthcare systems. I’ve implemented new technologies in over 20 hospitals in Ontario to enhance the delivery of healthcare. I’ve focused on solutions that either improve the patient experience, the healthcare provider’s workflow, or save the system money and resources—ideally all three. I\'ve received over $3.3M in grant funding as Principal Investigator, and another $9.5M as Co-Investigator. I actively share my knowledge and insights to drive systemic change. I can build fantastic teams and lead with vision and purpose. I’ve built a 15-person team focused on delivering academic work on industry timelines. I listen to every perspective, but remain laser-focused on execution. I empower my team with what they need so they always knock my socks off with their work. I\'m driven by the idea that Digital Innovation + Scientifically-Rigorous Evaluation = Radical Improvement in Healthcare. I think that health is complex but healthcare doesn’t need to be. Technology isn’t what’s interesting in healthcare, it’s what it enables that’s interesting. I\'m great at leveraging tech to replace common problems with intuitive solutions.
