ABOUT PETER TIMUSK B. MATH
I work in applied statistics and am an excellent problem solver in this field. I generally program statistics in statistical computer languages. I know linear models, as well as having knowledge of mathematical statistics, probability and a large variety of modeling approaches and applications. I have peer review experience for conferences in statistical computing and in the social sciences. I am also very active in community organizing including disAbility activism, some labour activism and performance arts. Almost all my activism is in governance roles or as a service volunteer in second responder roles in law enforcement. I am also experienced as a stage hand. My background is in natural science and mathematics and engineering design including drafting with mechanical arms which helps me in working in computer graphics and GIS mapping. I have also studied Canadian legal studies mostly focusing on computers and the law and computer crime. Topics I have worked on in research settings include crystallography, Canadian tourism, National Census subjects including agricultural censuses, aging and preparedness for retirement, business innovation, business demographics, Internet use by people and businesses including social networks, and knowledge representation within computers. I currently work in impact analysis a subset of evaluation studies. I have programmed in SAS, BASIC, HTML, R, SQL. In graduate school I studied simulations, knowledge representation and systems sciences and focused on the retirement of the baby boom and potential knowledge loss. Specialties: emotional support, managing volunteers, coding, mediating, teaching, grading, proofs, writing, science writing, statistical diagnostics, surveys, testing, tables of estimates, social-economic-legal context arguments, and labour disputes.
