About Peter Sloane
As Partner at Leason Ellis, my team of professionals and I handle all aspects of trademark and copyright counseling, prosecution and litigation. We manage the trademark portfolios of some of the world’s largest corporations and enforce their intellectual property rights in courts and before tribunals around the globe. Our work includes anti-counterfeiting, handling domain name disputes, conducting due diligence and negotiating license agreements. I have served as an expert witness and been appointed to provide pro bono representation through the Office of Pro Se Litigation of the Southern District of New York.Outside the firm, I have served as the founding Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Federal Bar Council. I currently chair the Law Firm Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). I’ve also had the honor of guest lecturing at events for INTA, the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), the Association of Intellectual Property Firms (AIPF) and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). In addition to committee involvement and speaking engagements, I’ve also authored over 25 professional articles. My latest article (April 2020) is published by the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal.Prior to Leason Ellis, I was a Partner at Ostrolenk, Faber, Gerb & Soffen, LLP, and held Associate positions at Fross Zelnick Lehrman & Zissu and Nims, Howes, Collison, Hansen & Lackert.I hold a Bachelor\'s Degree from Cornell University and JD from Cardozo School of Law, and I’m admitted to the Bar in New York State.Specialty experience includes pharmaceuticals, medical products, industrial products, consumer products, advertising, fashion, and entertainment.
