ABOUT PETER BERNSTEIN
Member of Scientific Advisory Boards [SAB], Editorial Boards, and provider of expert medicinal chemistry advice. Working with: organizations dedicated to aiding the discovery and development of safe new effective drugs; academic groups; bio Pharma; and Big Pharma. With over 40 years of successful drug discovery and development experience, in multiple scientific and project leadership roles Peter has expertise in a wide set of target types and therapeutic areas. This is documented by his >200 publications, presentations and patents which, combined with his awards and honors, serve to provide him broad recognition in the scientific community. Although specialized in delivery of small molecule clinical candidates he has also worked on or led teams ranging from target identification/project initiation to post-launch product support. He has experience with portfolio, project and due diligence evaluations, and training. Specialties:* Disease area experience:>20 years in Respiratory and Inflammatory disease areas and >11 years in Psychiatric and Neurological diseases. With significant, but less experience, in oncology, ophthalmology, and metabolic disease programs.* Target Class experience: GPCRs, monoamine transporters, enzyme inhibition, ion channels and nuclear hormone receptors.* Drug discovery and development: with particular expertise in the LO to candidate selection stage in modifying molecular structures to solve DMPK and toxicological issues presented by lead compounds, as exemplified by- Controlling CNS Access - Reduction of hERG or PLD liability
