I love helping teams succeed. I’m not a huge fan of talking about my successes, but I do like lists, so here’s a quick list of what I do.1. I own plans, comms, and clearing up dependencies. I keep the train on the tracks so engineers can focus on where they add the most value.2. I build relevant processes. I don’t add processes to keep myself busy or to look important. I do what makes sense and ultimately saves time or reduces headaches.3. I’m a data and analytics nerd. I love KPIs and metrics and I use data analysis to support my decisions, just ask my wife about our last car purchase.4. I never stop learning, I love to learn and expand my knowledge into new areas. Starting when I was a tutor in college, I’m passionate about sharing what I have learned and seeing others connect the dots.5. It was a circuitous route to program management. I started as a developer working on mainframes and volunteered to try out being a scrum master when we started to transition to scrum. After a while, I started to like working with my teams and understanding how they tick more than breaking down problems in code. Scrum Master lead to Agile project management which lead to managing complex technical programs.
