ABOUT PETER KOLLIAS

At age 16, I began investing in the market and paying attention to the business section of the newspaper. I took the money I earned as a bus boy and put it into a mutual fund. Seeing my money grow was the greatest thing ever! I thought if it continued to grow, I wouldn’t have to work. That’s not exactly what happened. What did happen was my formal investment education. Since then, I’ve earned various financial certifications, and recently completed my MBA through Dalhousie University. Investment, however, isn’t my only educational pursuit. I am also working on my third of four sommelier designations. I love wine, cooking for large gatherings (I’m Greek so every gathering is a large gathering), and coffee. Examples of my recent caffeine-fueled successes include:• Releasing clients from financial concerns so they can focus on their hobbies.• Providing services for a wide array of both domestic and international companies with varying cultures and clientele.When I was 6 years old, my mother always read, “What Do I Want to Be When I Grow Up?” My response: “A banker and a farmer.” The farming business didn’t pan out — unless you count the garden that I plant each year with my two young kids.
