ABOUT PETER HANSEN MIMECHE
I have considerable experience in the polymers industry developing industrial applications for polymeric materials. I also have experience with applications including nano-additives such as graphene and CNTs in composites, adhesives and thermoplastics. I have written and had awarded grant funded projects to the value of £2m in the last 2 years and has significant experience and contacts within the innovation arena. I have an MSc in Automotive Engineering, Manufacture and Management and has managed technical development projects in thermoplastics, elastomers, composites, structural adhesive, joining technologies (laser welding of long fibre thermoplastic composites) and other applications. As well as the auto and rail sectors, I have also developed, supported and run many projects in the oil and gas, aerospace, renewable energy and medical devices sectors.My experience includes technically leading and managing single-client R&D projects focused on client requirements, managing UK Government and EU funded research projects as well as industrial consortium projects. Many projects that I have managed combine mechanical and chemical testing as well as Finite Element Analysis to qualify materials for commercial and industrial applications and to develop new materials technologies. I am also the Director of Business Development for KMM-VIN (European Virtual Institute on Knowledge-based Multifunctional Materials AISBL)- a network of more than 70 European research organisations and on the organising committee of the international ITHEC conference on thermoplastic composites.
