ABOUT PETER PIERCE

Prior to being selected as the Superintendent of the Milwaukee County Juvenile Detention Peter served the community as member of the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring in 2016 as a Captain of Police. He was appointed to the Police Department as a Police Officer in 1990. As an Officer, he worked at District Six and the Vice Control Division. He was promoted to the rank of Detective in 1997 and worked in the Vice Control Division, Criminal Intelligence Division, Background Investigation Unit and the Criminal Investigation Bureau (Persons Division). In 2002, Peter was promoted to Lieutenant of Detectives. As a Lieutenant, he was assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Division, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), Sensitive Crimes Division, the Criminal Investigation Bureau ( Persons Division) and the Investigative Management Division. His final promoted was to Captain in 2011. During his tenure as a Captain, he commanded the Office of Management, Analysis and Planning, the Inspection Division, the Office of Community Outreach and Education, and was the Executive Officer of the Neighborhood Policing Bureau. Peter holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He is a graduate of both the FBI’s National Academy (219th Session) and the Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command (205th Session).
