About Peter Collins
Pete Collins is currently the Executive Director of South Waterfront Community Relations (SWCR), a 501©3 non-profit uniquely focused on both residential and employees transportation demand management services. South Waterfront, a waterfront community in southwest Portland, is an extremely green built environment with limited parking and a strong transportation options portfolio. Mr. Collins has also worked at the Washington Transportation Alliance in Beaverton specializing in suburban TDM services and programs. South Waterfront Community Relations\' mission is to develop and promote community building activities in Portland\'s South Waterfront, which will mitigate community deterioration and benefit the community as a whole.• Community Relations also works with residents and employees to encourage transportation options and promote smart land use development through its Transportation Management Association extension. • Utilizing the \'Main Street\' concept, the neighborhood elevates livability through clean and safe programs and community building projects.• Projects include a 5-month annual Farmers Market, community garden, movies/concerts in the park, speaking series, community newsletter, social media, retail collective, etc.• In 2011, South Waterfront became one of five pilot EcoDistricts in the Portland Metro region.
