About Pete Brunsman

My name is Pete Brunsman, and I am from Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently, I am a junior pursuing a major in finance at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Throughout my life, I have been complemented by diverse experiences that have not only shaped my academic path but also enriched my personal and professional growth. Currently, I am the Housing Manager at Phi Sigma Kappa - Sigma Triton Chapter. In this role, I oversee the day-to-day operations of our fraternity house and manage housing contracts for over 60 occupants. This responsibility has further strengthened my organizational and communication skills, providing me with practical experience in managing contracts and agreements. One significant chapter of my journey unfolded during the summer of 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic. I took the initiative to pull the community back together after quarantine, using one of the only Covid-friendly activities: golf. I started the MVPete Classic and have done it for four years, and intend on carrying it on this upcoming summer. Through this endeavor, I not only learned the art of being a servant leader but also acquired valuable skills in managing large groups, organizing substantial events, and navigating obstacles. The event\'s success allowed me to contribute and pounds of canned goods to a local food pantry. Building on this community-oriented foundation, I spent the summer after my freshman year interning at Hyde Park Wealth Management. In this role, I gained valuable, transferrable experience about wealth management and consulting. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of adaptability, resilience, and effective communication. Each opportunity has been a stepping stone, contributing not only to my academic knowledge but also to my holistic development as an individual committed to making a positive impact.

   Created a charity golf outing during Covid to bring the community back together which raised and collected canned goods for a local food pantry- Developed an improved marketing campaign for the events which resulted in twice as many participants in 2021- Connected with five different tournament sponsors which raised $500 and helped me form relationships with elite leaders, creators, and skilled professionals.
