ABOUT PETER BONFANTE
I have spent my career helping retail and consumer brands grow through periods of meaningful expansion and complexity. A senior legal executive, I focus on high-growth retail and eCommerce platforms. Throughout my career, I’ve partnered with founders, CEOs, and private equity investors to support organizations through global expansion, new channel launches, brand protection, and increasingly sophisticated risk environments. Today I lead the legal function at Reformation, a global retail and eCommerce platform operating across North America and Europe. I oversee enterprise-wide legal strategy across retail expansion, real estate, litigation, intellectual property, governance, compliance, and insurance. Over the past several years, we have scaled the business through significant revenue growth, 4x retail expansion, international market entry, and the development of an automated fulfillment facility, while building the legal infrastructure and risk frameworks required to sustain that growth. Earlier in my career, I founded and grew a boutique law firm, served as President and General Counsel of an apparel brand where we returned the company to profitability, and built the in-house legal function at Chinese Laundry, helping drive its transition to a direct-to-consumer model. Across each role, the throughline has been consistent: build scalable systems, protect enterprise value, and support sustainable growth. Areas of focus include: • Enterprise legal leadership • Retail & real estate expansion • Litigation & enterprise risk • Insurance & risk transfer • Intellectual property & brand protection • Governance & compliance • Private equity-backed growth environments
