About Tony Weiss

Wouldn’t it be great to find an Agile Coach with product focus, SAFe training certification and RTE experience, Agile training expertise, and someone who has actually been a Scrum Master on a team?CONGRATULATIONS! You\'ve found me.A great coach is influential, and works to guide leaders toward better ways of thinking. As a coach, I drive home concepts of Value and Outcomes that help product leaders measure what they deliver to customers, and better prioritize their work.My Agile Leadership practice balances both theoretical and practical applications of an Agile Mindset. My foundation in Quality Assurance gives me a unique perspective into the development process, and an understanding of Quality Strategies and their impact on value delivery. The result is an Agile leader who works to focus teams on delivering high-quality value to customers early and often, with the flexibility of adapting to feedback and a changing market.

Experience

  1. Agile Coach

    Fifth Third Bank

    Mar 2019 — Present

Accomplishments- Coached Scrum Masters on \"how to coach\": guided them through their own journeys and growth, while revealing to them the coaching techniques I used on them. In turn, they practiced coaching their Product Owners and Development Team members toward a more Agile way of working- Partnered with the Commercial Digital Banking teams to form and coordinate as a cohesive, focused tribe of teams- Collaborated with Tribe Leader to focus on Tribe-level vision and outcomes- Worked with Tribe Leader to craft meaningful backlog Epics - large problems that the entire tribe would be solving together- Coached Product Owners toward a product mindset vs. project mindset, to understand their individual product as well as how their product contributes to the Tribe product- Mentored Scrum Masters on coaching Product Owners toward creating and refining more meaningful features, for which their teams can build out stories that deliver those features- Partnered with Tribe Stakeholders and Leaders, guiding them toward a data-informed prioritization, as well as a problem-centric mindset- Delivered a meaningful dashboard based on stakeholder needs, to provide transparency on the value that was delivered, what the teams were working to deliver, and anything that might impede that delivery- Created and led an Outcomes Workshop twice weekly, where Product Owners and Scrum Masters for teams came together to talk through their current 90- & 180-day outcomes. The goal was to shift mindsets to include both outcomes and outputs, and how incremental outcomes lead to delivering on the long-term product Vision. This resulted in- Deeper understanding of the problems that the teams were trying to solve- More data-informed decision-making by teams on their team priorities- Increased focus on finishing work that is minimally viable
