Working as part of the Team onboard deep blue and deep energy rigid pipelay vessels.Responsible for the installation and commissioning of pipelay project equipment and equipment upgrades such as piggyback systems and deck winches and deck tensioners as per project specifications.Responsible for planning and execution of maintenance, equipment modifications and upgrades for future pipelay projects and ordering any required spares for upcoming work scopes.Attending to any breakdowns and ensuring maximum availability of all pipelay equipment and ensuring there is no downtime during pipelay operations. I re-joined the deep energy for the modifications and commissioning of the piggyback system in preparation for the Bhar Essalam Project for Mellitah Oil. This was a pipe in pipe (PIP) with 4” piggyback pipe attached, hence the requirement for modifications and commissioning on the piggyback system. Installing piggyback equipment such as piggyback aligner and piggyback tensioners, working through Technip’s commissioning procedures.Carrying out piggyback pipelay sea trials. Extensive knowledge of working on all the vessels rotating equipment which includes but not limited to all deck and A&R winches ranging in size from 5Te pneumatic air tuggers to 200Te & 500Te direct drive motor to gearbox A&R winches. hydraulic tensioners and norson reels. Vast experience of working on gearbox’s and brake units both electronic and hydraulic.
