About Peter Velgersdyk
I’m a third-year Mechanical Engineering student (4.0 GPA, Physics minor) who enjoys building systems that work in the real world. My recent projects range from a DOE-sponsored compact air-sampling device to AI-assisted design research with the Air Force Research Laboratory. I like environments where the problems are open-ended, the pace is fast, and the work mixes analysis, simulation, and hands-on testing. I take ownership on teams, lead small research efforts, and represent Westmont Engineering in conference and outreach settings. I’m most motivated when I’m building something useful and figuring out how to make it perform reliably.
