Peter Varsalona, PE, CEM, CBCP, is Principal & Vice President at RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC, where he leads the firm’s Building Design Group. He has extensive experience managing substantial capital improvement programs and rehabilitation projects, including large-scale building envelope and system upgrades, as well as property enlargements, adaptive re-use of existing properties, and new construction.Mr. Varsalona has spoken and written on building design and performance for various industry groups and has been quoted for his expertise in publications such as the New York Times, Bloomberg, The Cooperator, Brick Underground, and others. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, he holds certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), and a New York State Asbestos Inspector, Management Planner, and Project Designer. In 2019, Mr. Varsalona was elected to the Executive Board of CNYC and became President in 2023.
