The sound localization team is an ambitious project that aims to use an array of microphones to locate the source of a sound using numerical methods. The bulk of my work in this position has been taking over the python simulator project, it was a huge challenge to wrap my head around all the module and class hierarchies in such a large object oriented software project. I mainly worked on improving readability and user friendliness, adding and organizing documentation, writing testing tools, profiling performance, and simply wrapping my head around all the math and signal processing. I also go to learn how to use Linux while writing C and python scripts to profile candidate microcomputers for data acquisition.It has also been a privilege to build a high level understanding for such a project, know the documentation inside and out, and guide my colleagues working on the firmware and hardware design.
