ABOUT PETER POOS

Peter is an Engineer with over 32 years of experience in the design & construction of pipelines and oil, gas & water handling facilities with extensive experience in Western Canada and Alaska, USA. His experience to date has been concentrated in the development of midstream pipelines, upstream and downstream oil and gas facilities and environmental projects involving the capture and sequestration of the greenhouse gas CO2. Oil gravities Peter has designed for have ranged from Extra Heavy Oil (8.6-9.5 API) to Heavy Oil (11-18 API) to Conventional Oil (26-34 API). Facility designs have been for sweet and sour (NACE) service. Fluid rates on these facilities have ranged on the liquid side from 100’s of bpd to 100’s of thousands of bpd and from 100’s of scfd to 100’s of million scfd on the gas side.Throughout his career, Peter has risen to the challenge of the needs of the projects he’s worked on and demonstrated himself to be a key individual on project teams, providing keen insight in times of difficulty, defining him as a leader amongst his peers. His back-to-the-basics & fundamentals approach to leadership and management style have repeatedly proven him worthy of the rolls he’s performed on projects, as a team member, and been extremely beneficial to his projects. His council to his senior management and management & mentorship of his team and junior subordinates has resulted in cohesive teams driven to achieve the necessary outcomes demanded by the project against the by-design conflicting forces of the Capital Projects triangle: Cost, Schedule, & Quality.With this background and outlook on executing Capital Projects, Peter is an extremely valuable component of any Capital Project Team.
