About Peter Mittas

Over 30 years in transportation at FedEx. Career began in expedite dedicated trucks, moved to air charter/air freight, and became one of the earliest account managers in newly created Truckload Brokerage division. As a Part 121 Air Charter Specialist, my job was to provide customers with solutions to transport loads by air, primarily on chartered aircraft. I manged many shipments that flew internationally, most of which utilized Part 121 planes, including wide bodies such as B747 and AN-124. Over 10 years as an Account Manager I generated just shy of $20M in revenue. My responsibilities included contacting accounts and engaging in discussions to uncover truckload needs, persuading customers to entrust their shipments to FedEx, and presenting/negotiating rates. Once business was awarded, I switched to an operational role and negotiated rates with carriers to secure trucks to transport customers\' freight. Over the past 5+ years I\'ve led teams of salespeople who have, for the most part, over-performed. We\'ve weathered many storms together as I led them through many changes, both internally and in the transportation market.
