ABOUT PETER MILANO
I have worked in economic development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 26 years. Twenty five of those years have been spent working for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, where I work with a range of companies, from start up to Fortune 10. The other year was spent recruiting foreign direct investment into Massachusetts for the Massachusetts Office of International Trade & Investment. Starting in as a Project Manager in the Northeast Region, I have worked all over the Commonwealth, applying the state’s economic development programs to specific companies looking to site and grow in Massachusetts. Currently I serve as the Director of Strategy & Business Development and Director for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, coordinating the regional and administrative teams with regards to the state’s Economic Development programs, as well as interactions with municipalities and business partners. In 2024, I was named a “Top 50 Economic Developer” by the group Consultant Connect, recognizing state, county, and municipal professionals working in the economic development field. Prior to joining the Mass Office of Business Development I owned and operated several small businesses and served as the National Sales and Marketing Manager for a chemical and soap dispensing company.
