   As the Director of the Recovery Residence Alliance of Montana (RRAM), Peter Maney leads the state’s efforts to expand, certify, and support recovery residences that provide safe, ethical, and culturally responsive environments for individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Under his leadership, RRAM has grown significantly, certifying 56 recovery homes across Montana by 2024 and serving over 1,278 individuals. His strategic direction and oversight ensure that all certified homes meet the rigorous standards set by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) and comply with state legislation.Peter’s role encompasses the development and implementation of comprehensive recovery housing programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of Montana’s residents, including American Indian populations, justice-involved individuals, and those with co-occurring disorders. A key aspect of his work is fostering collaboration with state agencies, tribal governments, and local recovery organizations to enhance service delivery and ensure culturally appropriate care. Peter plays an instrumental role in addressing the challenges faced by Montana’s recovery housing network, including securing sustainable funding. He has led efforts to diversify funding sources, advocate for state-level support to ensure the continued growth and impact of recovery housing in underserved areas. His commitment to the sustainability of these programs has helped reduce recidivism rates, improve long-term sobriety outcomes, and provide residents with the resources they need to reintegrate successfully into society.Through his role at RRAM, Peter continues to influence policy development, program design, and recovery outcomes at both the state and national levels. His focus on culturally responsive recovery solutions has positioned RRAM as a leader in Montana’s fight against substance use disorders.
