ABOUT PETER K.

Maxwell Presently, I am a Leader in Me Facilitator developing leadership in educators, so they can teach and inspire students to be leaders. Also, my role with The Learning Partnership is to develop entrepreneurship skills in students from K to Grade 12 through the work of Business Leader mentors. I was an Elementary Educator for 30 years. This includes experience as a classroom teacher, language, special education and behaviour resource teacher, Vice Principal and Principal in elementary schools for 12 years. In 2011, I was proud to be recognized for outstanding leadership in Special Education with both a Provincial and Local Educational Leadership Award with the Council for Exceptional Children. In 2012, I was recognized as one of Canada’s Outstanding Principals by The Learning Partnership. Each day I strive to truly walk the walk exemplifying leadership in all areas of my life: home, work and community. As a committed educator I work to build capacity in the schools I have served. During the past 15 years, I have been actively involved locally, provincially and internationally with the Council for Exceptional Children and the Council for Children with Behavior Disorders. He presently sits as a Member of the Council for Children with Behavior Disorders Foundation Executive. Also, I am an experienced facilitator who is able to lead various groups including leadership development in schools and training all levels of staff in the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” I hold an honours degree in Physical Education from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Education from Queens University. I have been a lifelong resident of Ontario, Canada, where I live with my wife and two sons. In my free time I coach club basketball, curl, and enjoy reading books on leadership.
