ABOUT PETER HARVEY
I’m passionate about responsible mining and creating a positive environmental and social legacy. My focus is three-fold: • Embedding closure throughout an assets life: I work with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate closure thinking into each stage of the mining lifecycle to create the best possible outcomes. • Challenging the status quo: As a sector we need to think differently about closure and our legacy. I believe through partnerships and innovation we can create value from our legacy portfolio. • Enabling rehabilitation and repurposing: Once production ends, we focus on completing closure and rehabilitation works to repurpose the land for future beneficial use by society. I’m inspired by the passion from miners and non-miners to find a pathway to leave a positive legacy post mining. These amazing individuals come from diverse backgrounds and share a passion for innovative solutions.Outside of work, family time is precious. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. I try to maintain a healthy balanced, prioritising fitness, spending time outdoors hiking or gardening and in the workshop woodworking or maintaining a much loved old Land Rover.
