About Peter Guan

Hello, I am a statistics and computer science major with a business minor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My passion lies in navigating the vast realm of big data, uncovering patterns, and optimizing business operations. My computer science journey took off in the summer before my freshman year of college, where I completed various programs by Everyone Can Code Chicago to learn and be proficient in SwiftUI and the ability to build iOS apps. I would additionally take on roles such as project manager and a mentor for students a year later. Later on, I realized my passion in data analysis/science and took a few classes that taught me the pandas library in Python, SQL, and Tableau. I built a few projects with these libraries/software and am looking to pursue a career using them. I have also dived a bit into machine learning by doing research with a phD mentor, who developed a diffusion-based video editing model that I helped build into an iOS app. These topics interest tme as well and I\'m looking to learn more about these topics in the near future.
