About Peter Coyne
Prior to being appointed as Senior Vice President, Public Safety for the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, I had a successful 20- year career with the New York City Police Department, where I attained the rank of Captain. I then embarked on a second career in private security, working as the Director of Security for two large retail malls located in Long Island and Queens. I then went on to be the Operations Manager for SIAC, the technology subsidiary of the New York and American Stock Exchanges, located in the MetroTech Center. The combination of law-enforcement, retail, and corporate security management led me to be appointed Director of Public Safety for the MetroTech Business Improvement District, one of the four Business Districts that fall under my jurisdiction in my current position.I have a Master\'s Degree with Distinction in Human Resource Management from Long Island University. I also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management, along with certificates in Management and Leadership and Supervision, from St. Joseph\'s University.
