ABOUT PETER COPELAND
With years of experience in policy and stakeholder relations, I am passionate about developing and implementing effective solutions for complex and emerging issues in public policy. In my current role as Deputy Director of Domestic policy, I recruit and manage top talent and shepherd thought leadership projects and products for the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, overseeing the think-tank’s work across a wide array of domestic policy projects. For various organizations, I write engaging op-Ed’s, long form essays, and host policy, intellectual, and cultural events at the intersection of public policy and philosophy. Previously, I worked as the Director of Policy & Stakeholder Relations at the Office of the Solicitor General, where I led a team of policy professionals and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to advance the ministry\'s priorities and objectives. I oversaw the policy development and analysis for key areas such as policing, corrections, fire safety, coroners and forensic pathology, private security, emergency services telecommunications, and animal welfare.
