Experienced, board-certified Comparative/Toxicologic Pathobiologist, leading the highly-talented Global Pathology group at GSK, working across the Discovery and Development arena in safety, efficacy and clinical biomarkers.Special interest/ expertise in cardiovascular pathophysiology (integrating in vitro, in vivo functional and structural data), ophthalmic pathobiology and the application of digital pathology in translational science- NonClinical Safety Leadership Team, GSK- Internal Cardiology Safety Panel, GSK- Lead Domain Expert, Ophthalmology Safety, GSK- Translational Build core team, GSK- HESI Cardiac Safety Technical Committee and Integrated CV Strategies Working Group Presentations on ocular pathology, cardiovascular pathology to EU/international meetings/education courses. Primary read and peer review experience of regulatory and investigative toxicology studies from acute to carcinogenicity studies. Project Pathologist responsibility for NCEs and biologicals. Discovery Pathology expertise including transgenic model phenotyping, ophthalmologic disease models and therapeutics (topical/intravitreal), neuroinflammation/demyelination models. Discovery Safety Leader working with neurology therapeutic area (based in China/Singapore) from target assessment to candidate selection, to identify and investigate safety liabilities, prioritise risk management and develop differential development strategy. Matrix management responsibility for development phase pathology issues in neuroscience TA (Portfolio Pathology Lead) and line management of senior pathologists in the Department.External partnerships:Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) eTOX; working on pathology ontologies/data curation; walled garden data sharing initiatives; led GSK participation in the NC3Rs Crack-It InPulse challenge to develop a mature human iPS-derived cardiomyocyte-based platform for in vitro contractility and safety assessment.
