Peter Cantine, renowned Woodstock restauranteur, has joined Halter Associates Realty’s Woodstock office as a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.Talk about local! A French Huguenot, Peter’s paternal ancestor settled in New Paltz in 1686, and his maternal great grandfather was the horse-and-buggy town doctor of Woodstock-and delivered each of his parents! Peter\'s grandmother, Jo Cantine, was one of Woodstock\'s noted 20th Century oil painters. As a hospitality professional, Peter operated commercial properties in both New York City and Woodstock, NY. Hands-on in day-to-day operations, he participated in all phases of property management, planning, financing and governmental approval processes. Peter’s public service, both as a member of Woodstock’s Town Council and as former President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Arts, further qualifies him on both residential and commercial sides. Peter negotiated the acquisition of key real estate for the Town of Woodstock and successfully resolved a zoning issue, yielding increased affordable housing as part of that deal. Peter currently serves as a volunteer for the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild.Peter feels good old-fashioned customer service and attention to detail is universal to all business.
