As a Vistage Chair, I support CEOs, business owners, and leaders, helping them and their teams thrive, deliver outstanding business results, and lead more fulfilling lives. I facilitate monthly group discussions with small to mid-sized business CEOs, providing a confidential space for them to openly address their most pressing business and personal challenges. In addition, I conduct 1:1 coaching sessions to offer tailored insights and resources, enabling them to tackle these challenges head-on.The Vistage approach, refined over 65 years, has supported more than top business leaders in over 40 countries. The guiding principle of a Vistage Chair is clear:\"our success is defined by the success of our members.\"Dun and Bradstreet\'s independent research has shown Vistage members on average grow 2.2 times faster than non members in similar sectors which shows the peer group model works well.

ABOUT PETER BOUCHER

I believe that leadership is a great privilege, but it also brings enormous responsibility, and can be isolating. Working with Vistage, I hope to provide a support network to help alleviate that pressure. Having a group of ambitious, like-minded peers to bounce ideas off drives growth; both for your business and for you personally. My story begins with my incredible parents. My father an army officer and my mother the daughter of an entrepreneur. Life on the Barracks was inspiring and my passion for leadership was born. I saw how senior officers set the mission (strategy) and let the middle ranks work out the plan (command). The principle of ‘Serve to Lead’: officers serving their troops, not the other way around, stuck with me. Choosing Industry instead of the Army, I started in large multinational corporations, initially in Sales and Marketing. Complex organizations, multiple ranks—it was a leadership playground. But life took some unexpected turns, including the sudden loss of my mother. Her entrepreneurial roots made me reflect, and I realized corporate life was wearing me out. I wanted to build something of my own. So, I swapped income for equity. Buying Excalibur was one of the best decisions of my life. Leading a small business, where the only real advantage is your people and agility, was exhilarating. We set our mission to be ‘famous for customer and staff engagement’—and it worked. We grew organically in 6 out of 7 years and were named a ‘Best Top 100 Small Company to Work For’ five times. Investing in our team and empowering them was the best thing I ever did. Selling the firm in 2024 was bittersweet; I was immensely proud, but letting go was tough. What’s next? I want to help SME leaders on their journeys. I know that it\'s rewarding but it can also be lonely; the pressure is unlike any other role because the buck stops with you. That’s why I’ve joined Vistage and am excited to chair my first peer group. I also love coffee, so if you\'d like to chat over a brew, get in touch!
