Seth Godin says,\"\'Be yourself, everyone else is taken.\' I don’t agree with Oscar Wilde on this one. In fact, almost no one else is taken. You definitely can’t (and shouldn’t) be someone who already exists, but the number of slots left is infinite. Each of us can work to become the person we seek to be. A better version of the person we are right now. Doing work we’re proud of for people we care about.\"Here\'s me right now:I LOVE PEOPLE. People are most important. People last forever – nothing else does. Compassion/empathy, grace/truth, forgiveness/confrontation, individual performance/team success are all a part of loving people.I LOVE PRANKS: Having fun and laughing with teammates makes the tough days better and the good days great. I love a good prank in the manner of Jim and Dwight, a megaphone shout out to teammates during a long afternoon, and any events requiring a costume.I LOVE PROJECTS: A beginning + an end = no boredom. Whether it’s recruiting volunteer small group leaders for short-term commitments or managing a $1M building project that will last for years, I love to begin, manage, and complete a project. Then start again.I LOVE PROFICIENCY: I love the challenge to learn and continuously improve to the place of mastery. “If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well” is an adage I can appreciate.I LOVE PROCESS: Lean management was one of the most interesting concepts I learned during my MBA. An efficient process honors people. We can\'t answer their question, provide their resource, or transition them well without a good process.I LOVE PLACE: I love to create a place where people feel valued and can grow into the best version of themselves.
