ABOUT PETER ANTHAMATTEN

My work has focused around various facets of the intersection of geography and health as well as geographic education. My current research efforts are focused on 1) evaluating the relation between urban environments and health-related behaviors, such as physical activity and diet, among children in particular; 2) bridging the gap between research in the cognitive sciences and geographic education, particularly as it applies to spatial thinking; and 3) the links between conservation policy and conservation practice with a focus on simple spatial-analytical techniques for evaluating this link.Specialties: GIS, public health, cartography, spatial thinking, obesity and built environments
