A-life brings the curriculum to life with our hands-on healthy workshops, fitness sessions, drug awareness lessons & follow-on application tools for the whole family.Our sessions include:• Hands-on healthy workshops – 20-25 hands-on, games-based activities which bring to life the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices. Topics include: a balanced diet | the importance of exercise | healthy teeth | hygiene | 6-8 glasses of water | importance of sleep | 5-a-day | where food comes from | how food grows | Olympics | nutritional values | lifestyles past and present | traffic light system | consequences and effects of smoking, drugs and alcohol | eating too much sugar, salt and fat | junk food & much more.• Fun fitness sessions – For KS1 children are taken through a fun, well-paced 30 minutes of jungle trails, Olympic activities and short games, combining fitness with numeracy and the learnings from the healthy workshop earlier in the day. For KS2, children take part in a well-organised circuits fitness session using a mixture of specialist equipment including trampolining, boxing and balance wobblers to challenge their strength, jumping, balance, fitness, flexibility, coordination in a fun but controlled environment.• Alcohol and drugs awareness (Year 5+) – Teaching children about the dangers of alcohol and drugs is often cited as one of teachers\' least favourite subjects to cover. A-life use a mixture of PowerPoint and interactive demonstrations to put across a hard-hitting yet fun session on the consequences of choices with alcohol and drugs.We also offer an online 7-day healthy challenge which reinforces what children have learnt during the day whilst teaching computer skills and covering much of the curriculum for PSHE and healthy living.A-life have been teaching in schools for over 10 years and have received outstanding feedback from the 500+ schools that we have visited.
