About Pete Levitas

In November 2021 I joined Medtronic as the company\'s first dedicated in-house antitrust counsel. From 20••••21 I was a Partner in Arnold & Porter’s antitrust practice group, where I represented FORTUNE 500 and other companies in transactions, complex federal civil investigations and litigation focusing on antitrust and competition issues. Before entering private practice, for 20+ years I served in a wide range of US government leadership positions, including the federal antitrust agencies and on Capitol Hill. I’ve used that extensive government experience to help clients formulate and implement practical risk management strategies, allowing them to compete aggressively within the boundaries of the antitrust laws. From 20••••13, I served in the role of Deputy Director in the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission, where I managed a group of 15 direct reports and a broader team of approximately 100. I also spent nearly a decade as an antitrust counsel on Capitol Hill, including seven years as the Staff Director and Chief Counsel to the US Senate Judiciary Committee\'s Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights, and more than five years as a trial lawyer in the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division. My law degree is from Harvard Law School and I have a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
