The Grid Deployment Office (GDO) works to provide electricity to everyone, everywhere by maintaining and investing in critical generation facilities to ensure resource adequacy and improving and expanding transmission and distribution systems-Competitive funding solicitation manager for the Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund Program, responsible for implementing solutions to enhance the resilience of the electric grid in Puerto Rico, including technical assistance, financial assistance, and education and capacity building to public, private, and non-profit energy stakeholders-Lead and coordinate with Federal counterparts in FEMA, EPA, DOI, and U.S. Treasury on National Laboratory technical assistance efforts supporting the long-term recovery of the electric sector in the U.S. Territories (Puerto Rico, United States Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Guam)-Oversee the implementation of grant programs for Territorial energy utilities to cost-effectively harden the electric grid to mitigate the effects of extreme weather events-Manage and oversee National Laboratory technical assistance provided to Territorial energy agencies in support of exploring cost-effective utility programming to improve the reliability and resilience of the electric grid.
