ABOUT PETE SMIDDY

As a Solutions Engineer, I act as one of the principal designers for major cloud data network systems and their subsystems utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs. I act as an expert technical resource to networking staff in all phases of the development and implementation process. I provide highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new cloud network solutions that enable the functional business units to meet their strategic objectives.As a member of the Cloud Network team, we work in an Agile/Scrum environment. I\'ve been responsible for providing innovated and industry proven software defined networking solutions in the private and public cloud space for Liberty Mutual. Our goal is to leverage best in class software defined network products and services combined with Cloud offerings to create an automated and orchestrated world class infrastructure.I\'m a motivated individual that has a DevOps mindset with a foundation of coding skills including python, and knowledge in CI/CD pipelines. I have a deep knowledge in DNS architecture and design as well as expert knowledge and experience in network and voice technologies including TCP/IP, Routing (BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF), SIP, load balancers, and network security products, such as Cisco ISE, and Juniper SRX firewalls. I have a comprehensive understanding of designing complex network solutions including WAN, LAN, and Cloud/Data Center solutions at an enterprise level. I have enhanced skills in go forward technologies including NFV, SDN, SDWAN, automation using Ansible, Python, and REST API\'s. I am an innovative and creative thinker.
